Owen Henry SWIFT was born in Ireland ca 1825. In 1845 he married Ann Boyle in Ireland. The couple emigrated to the United States in 1847 settling in New Diggings, Lafayette County, Wisconsin.
Several children born to Owen and Ann Swift include: Catherine Swift, Michael H. Swift, John Vincent Swift, Peter F. Swift, and James L. Swift.
The family moved to a house just west of Benton, Lafayette County, Wisconsin in 1868. There Mr. Swift farmed.
In February 1870 Mrs. Swift died of heart disease.
Owen Swift died on December 29, 1899 at his home near Benton. He was buried in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Benton, Lafayette, Wisconsin.
