My great uncle Patrick Dolan was born in Aughrim on 26th November 1897, the youngest son of Patrick and Mary Dolan (nee Casey). I do not have much information on his early life apart fro 1901 and 1911 census records of living in Aughrim with seven other brothers and sisters.
He was a nurse at Ballinasloe Mental Hospital from c.1930 until retirement. In 1940, he married Cecilia Forde, also working as a nurse at the hospital. The 1948 UK. & Ireland Nursing Registers recorded him at the hospital in Ballinasloe, but living nearby in Culliaghmore. (Reg. no. A.1038, R.M.P.A. Cert. no. 27340, dated Nov. 1930.
I do not have any more information after this date, other than that he may have retired and passed away in the Castlerea area (where photo was taken).
