Looking for Patrick Joseph Broderick and his family somewhere in or around County Cork. His wife was named Margaret, but I don't know her last name. I believe he migrated to Canada and ended up in Windsor (Sandwich and Essex area). Patrick Joseph was born March 15 1828 in County Cork, married Margaret about 1845 to 1850 in Ireland and died in Port Credit Ontario April 21 1908 at age 80. I think that Patrick and Margaret had 6 children (maybe more). Catherine, Michael, John Arthur (my great grandfather), Patrick, Martin and Elizabeth. I think Margaret died when Elizabeth was born. Elizabeth married Patrick Joseph Harvey and they had John Arthur living with them later in his life, but Margaret was not there at that census. I suspect that Catherine was born in Ireland around 1849 to 1850. Her brother Michael was born around 1851 to 1852 in Ireland, but he married Jemima Moe in Chatham Kent Ontario June 7 1874. He died very young at age 28 in Tilbury East, Kent Ontario Dec 11 1879. The next child born was my great grandfather John Arthur, 1855 in Essex, Ontario. He married Henrietta A Secord Dec 11 1878 in Saint Thomas, Ontario. They had two girls and my grandfather Arthur, but then John Arthur died at age 28, very young much like his brother Michael. John Arthur died March 4 1884 in Saint Thomas, Ontario.
I suspect that Patrick Joseph Broderick's father was Michael Broderick, I think this Michael was born around 1801 in Ireland. He died June 2 1889 in Essex Ontario at age 88. He married Margaret McNally and she was born around 1797 in Ireland. She died Nov 23 1875 in Sandwich, Essex, Ontario at age 78. They had at least three children, besides Patrick Joseph, there was Bridgette Broderick who was born in 1836 in Irelandor Scotland, married May 8 1860 in Windsor, Essex, Ontario to John Cahill, and died Sept 18 1911. They had 10 children from 1862 to 1876. Patrick Joseph and Bridgette had a brother named Marin, but I don't know much about him yet.
The names get confusing at this point, but I suspect that Michael Broderick Sr's father was also named Patrick Broderick. I think he was born in 1775 in Ireland and died in Ireland. He married Margaret O'Laughlin (or maybe O'Locklin) .
There are a lot of Patrick's, Margaret's and Michael's. But those are pretty common Irish names. If you know anything about any of these families including the Harvey family or the Cahill family please let me know?
