He was born in Ennis, Kilrush. His parents were Martin and Henrietta, he was eldest of nine children, seven survived, Patrick, Martin (son) and Michael came to the US but Michael joined the service and eventually went to South Africa, eventually making his way to England where the other children emigrated.
There are records, his White Star line ticket (3rd class!) original passport, original birth certificate that my father had but he recently passed and I don't know where those papers are. As I have obtained Irish naturalization in 1996, I obtained a duplicate birth certificate for my grandfather. but I have shared it with other family members who have also used it to obtain citizenship so I don't know where the document is now. Patrick was born 31 July, 1911 or 1912.
I have some info, but it's spotty. A Facebook group formed on acocunt of some folk's DNA kit results (not mine!) I suspect this is happening a lot but it wasn't my cup of tea, strange as it may sound.
