Patrick Kennedy
Patrick Kennedy was born in Dunganstown near New Ross, Co. Wexford on the 16th of February 1823. He is most famed as being the paternal great-grandfather of US president JFK, and one of the people directly connecting JFK to Ireland. He was a farmer's son who worked as a cooper. In 1849 he emigrated to America with his fiancé Bridget Murphy (1827-1888), whom he married that same year. The couple had 5 children, 4 of whom survived to adulthood,
