Patrick is my 3 x Great Grandfather, he and his father, mother and brother - James Ward Kelly, Nancy and Lachlan - were included in the mass eviction from the Mahon estate in 1847. They did not board a ship but made their way to England. Eventually settled in North Tyneside where Patrick would begin a small business as a bootmaker, going on to open a 2nd shop in the Main Street in Jarrow. Very proud of their endeavours!
