Patrick Lennan (Lennen, Lennon) was the son of James Lennen, a farmer, and Annie Lennen née Meaney. He was born in Seskin, County Carlow, Ireland between 1832 and 1838. (This date range is derived from information furnished on his marriage and death certificates)
He migrated to Adelaide, South Australia in 1855, where he married Julia McGrath on 24 June 1858. If the information on Julia’s death certificate is correct, they must have met almost immediately on her arrival or they had known each other in Ireland, or it was an arranged marriage. I have no further information about his migration.

Patrick died from senile decay and asthenia (abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy) at 458 Drummond Street, Carlton on 11 September 1909. He was buried at the General Cemetery Melbourne on 14 September 1909.

It was sixteen years before Julia died and was buried with Patrick on 18 July 1925.
