My great-great grandfather Patrick Mahoney was born in 1840, baptised in the parish of Hospital & Herbertstown, County Limerick on 5 October 1840.

His parents were James Mahoney (1810-1865) and Bridget (Keane) Mahoney (1813-?), who were married in the parish of Bruff, County Limerick 27 January 1839.

Partick emigrated to Victoria, Australia possibly before 1862.

In 1867 Patrick married Mary Fahey (1845-1879) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

They lived in central Victoria, north of Melbourne and had four children all born in this area.

Mary (Fahey) Mahoney died on 17 August 1879 after giving birth to her son, Michael, who unfortunately died on 29 August 1879.

My great-grandfather Joseph John Mahoney was born on 16 October 1873 and married Rosa Waite in Melbourne, Victoria on 30 July 1901.

They then moved to Stratford in Gippsland, Victoria and my grandfather Henry Vernon Mahoney was born on 27 April 1902.
