I have a Mathews' match in my ancestry. That of Ann Mathews of Ardee, townland of Bornamoe, who married Patrick Byrne(Burns) in the late 1790's. One of their son's was Owen Byrne, who was my 2x great grandfather, b. 1801. He emigrated to NYC and settled in Elizabeth, Union Co. NJ. His bio is posted. Please take a look. Thank you. Patrick was my great, great, great grandfather - he married Mary Fitzsimmons (born~1815, county Cavan). They emigrated to Ops in Victoria County, Ontario Canada in about 1832 with Mary's parents.
