  • Hi,

I am a first time user of this site. Patrick McNamara was my great x 4 grandfather through his daughter Catherine's marriage to the convict George Barton. I have extensively researched Patrick's history from the time of his arrest and incarceration in Ireland to his death in Australia, but i know little of his life prior to this. I would appreciate any assistance/information regarding his parents, grandparents etc and also that of his wife Eleanor Murphy.

    Regards,

    Ken.

  • Hi Ken,

Patrick is my ancestor 5x grfather. My line comes down through Catherine and George daughter Mary Ellen Jones nee Barton.I don't have much about Patrick's parents, but some research suggests that his father could have been Patrick McNamara 1753 to 1790 and Elizabeth Quirk.Eleanor Murphy father possible Martin Murphy 1750.I dont have evidence just a work in progress. My Dads cousin has also been working on this and she seems to have come to a stop.

    Kind Regards Jacky
