Patrick Minogue was my great grandfather. His parents were Colman Minogue and Ann Moylan. He travelled to Australia and on 8 May 1866 married my great grandmother Bridget Corbett also a native of Clare. They had 4 children including my grandmother Mary Minogue who was born in 1869. Patrick died at the age of 40 in 1882 and a memorial head stone was provided by his brother John with the inscription

The name Newkburne has been deciphered as New Quay Burren.

The gravestone of his father Colman Minogue is in the burial area near the Church of St Patrick New Quay and the inscription reads
