Hi Gerald,
I have uploaded a death for a Bartholomew Mulvaney in Pollomalady on 12 Sep 1883. This townland is next to Currakeel and I believe he is most likely your ancestor. Hope this is useful to you.
Best regards, Dolores.
Hi to Lurgan Parish members. I have just discovered Ireland XO and thought I would upload details of my ancestors who I beleive came from Lurgan.
My Great Grandfather Patrick was baptised in Currakeel on the 8th August 1838. His father was Bartholomew Mulvany and his mother was Joan Cahill. Patrick Married Catherine Carroll in Cavan on the 8th February 1860. Patrick and Catherine moved to Dundee where my Grandfather Owen was born, then to Durham, where my father Owen was born and then to London where I was born in 1950.
My wife and I are regular visitors to Ireland and have visited Cavan once, calling in to Virginia, but it was a weekend in 1993 and there was no way I could find anyone who knew anything about the family.
Now that I have found Ireland Reaching Out I thought I would log on and see what happens ?
Best wishes from Nottingham in the UK.
Gerald Mulvaney

Hi Dolores,
Many thanks for this information - it is much appreciated.
Can I ask you where you found it ?
Many thanks
Gerald Mulvaney
Hi Gerry,
The website is:- https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
It has the Irish Civil Records for Births, Marriages & Deaths, not just the index but the full record as the one I posted. You can search All Registration Areas but the main one for your ancestors is 'Oldcastle'. In the early 1900's the registration district changed to 'Bailieborough' so it is worth searching there too.
Also the Catholic Parish Registers are available now on line at:- https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0849
Your Mulvaney family were living in Lurgan Parish, Diocese of Kilmore | County of Cavan
Hope these sites are useful and help you in your search.
If you need any help let me know, I am in Virginia quite often as my family still live there.
Best wishes,
Dolores.
Hi Dolores,
I do very much appreciate your help with my research. My wife and I visit Ireland a couple of times a year, usually holidfaying in Clifden or visiting my son and his family in Belfast, so I will make an attempt to include Virginia again this year and have a mooch around Currakeel and Pollomaday.
Thank you again for your help.

Hi Dolores,
We were coming over to Ireland on Saturday for a week in Connemara but on the spur of the moment I have changed the trip and we will come over on Thursday to Virginia and stay until Saturday morning, before heading over to Clifden.
If you are around it would be lovely to say hello, but in any event I want to have a look around Curraghkeel and Lurgan. I have also manged to pick up a birth record of Patrick Mulvaney which I have uploaded following your suggestions - many thanks for the advice.
Warm regards from a very hot UK !
Gerry
