Patrick had a relationship with a local girl and she became pregnant. Her family would not let them marry so he emigrated. He drank himself to death. His nephew siad that as a baby, he had a bottle of alcohol stuffed in his diapers by his mother (Patrick's sister Kit) for when they visited Patrick in a sanotorium. He arrived in the USA 13th March 1923 on the Baltic. He went to his aunt: Mrs Galllagan, 57 Watts Street, New York.
