    I am researching Rafferty, in the same area.  I have  taken a DNA test as has descendents of a Rafferty family from Eskerboy & we are related.

    What I can tell you is, there were Rafferty's galore in the area in the mid 1800's.....The story handed down through the generations is pre famine there were 5 families in that general area. After the famine the famine years there were at least 15 families.......
