Thank you for this! I am the descendant in Canada who transcribes articles from The Catholic Review (the site linked above) from time to time. The paper does not seem to be digitized anywhere yet. It is a treasure trove of information, especially about parishes in America, Catholic institutions, clergy, and sometimes individuals. I do not have all the copies, but I do have quite a few issues from the 1870s and 1880s, and I am happy to attempt lookups for people if you have dates and events.
Agnes Kavanagh's mother, married to Professor James William Kavanagh, was Anne Nugent. Her book of short stories, The Gift; Containing Three Catholic Tales: Agnes, the Daughter of Vincent de Paul; the Englishman in Italy; and a Doctor's Story of the Reign of Terror by Mrs. James W. Kavanagh was published 1863, the year she died in childbirth along with the couple's 16th child. It is digitized by the British Library and available on Google Books.
