Migrated to/Born in UK

Peter Corrigan born about 1833 to Patrick and Ellen Corrigan Peter was their 5th child. Peter was from Cloone according to his English prison record. About 1849 - 1850 Peter migrated to Louth, Lincolnshire, England with his parents and siblings Patrick, John, James, Nicholas and Mary Ann. Peter is my x3 great uncle.

Peter made his living as a general labourer and in April 1858 he married Ann Hunt whose father was English and mother Irish, but unknown where in Ireland her mother was from.  Peter and Ann six children before Ann’s early death aged 33 in 1870.  Their children in descending order of age were Mary, John Henry, Ellen, Catherine, Mary Ann, and Peter.  Only three of their children lived beyond infancy and all of their children were under the age of 24 when they died. Only daughter Ellen had a child named Sarah Ann in 1860 who died at birth.  Sarah Ann’s father is unknown.

After Peter became widowed he moved between Louth England, Grimsby and Lincoln often staying with family members, presumably in search of work. Two of his children were born in Bradford Yorkshire. His children who survived infancy were raised by Peter’s brother James and wife Jane who owned a grocers store in Lincoln England.

Peter Corrigan died in February 1898 and is buried in Louth England
