I am not sure about this birthday/baptism info, or if Eugene Gibney and Anna Shelley were his parents. The spouse and children are definite, and it is highly likely he had brothers named Patrick McGivney and Francis McGivney (who was b. c.1838 in Cavan and died in Drummollard, Killinkere c. 1918).

Peter may have died around 1880, unless he was divorced. His wife, Alice, remarried around then (to John Ahearn) and had her first child with her new husband in 1881.
