Rachel Magee (b. 19-Mar-1874) daughter of John Magee (labourer) & Mary 'May' Thompson of Ballyintagh was born in Ballyagan and baptised Roman Catholic. 

Ballyagan aka Bellyagan was further south of Dromore near Garvagh.

John & Mary Magee moved about and appear on record in various parishes in this district (as each child is born):

  • I am new here, I hope I am doing this correctly as I only just registered and I landed right here, which seems too coincidental to be possible.

    I am looking for information on Maggie or Margaret Magee or McGee.  If I have the correct details she was born around 25/11/1871 and had a son named John 31/1/1891 in Collins, Aghadowey.  I believe her parents were John and Mary.  The information I am really looking for is about her son John.  Maggie married James McArthur in 1893 then had a daughter Martha Jane, then years later in Scotland a son William or Willie.  Any information on this family would be much appreciated.

  • Hi Rua, thank you for your reply.  I now am pretty sure Rachel was my great grandmother's sister.
