In 1830, Robert Jones Lloyd Jr. was conferred with a Master of Arts on SHrive Tuesday. 

His nephew Robert Jones Lloyd Esq. (1820-1844) who died "of decline, age 24" was the eldest son of the Rev. John Lloyd (1799-1847) of Smithhill who was assassinated in 1847.  

On 30 July 1836, "at the Royal College of Surgeons in IRELAND, Mr. ROBERT JONES LLOYD, A.M. and M.D. having been solemnly and publicly examined on Two several days received Letters Testimonial, qualifying him to practise Surgery, and to be elected a Member of the College.  Order of the Court of Examiners, C. O'KEEFE, Registrar."

On 21 August 1837, Robert Jones Lloyd Esq. M.D. married Lucy daughter of the late Matthew Lyster Esq. of Lysterfield Co Roscommon. 

Robert Jones Lloyd, Esq., F.R.C.S.I., was Surgeon to the county infirmary in Roscommon town when he died of a fever in 1847 during the worst year of the Great Famine.
