Robert Richardson and his family originated from Aghaboe Parish in Laois County. His wife was Ruth Lark (1796-1876) who he married around 1820.. Together with Ruth and their 7 children, he emigated to Canada in 1849. The family arrived at the port of New Orleans on February 22, 1849 (New Orleans passenger list 1813-1963). From there they made their way to Huron County, Ontario, Canada. There they homesteaded in Stanely Township. Robert's daughter Mary married Kepple Disney, whose parents also had emigrated from Ireland and settled in Stanely Township (Holmesville). Mary was the grandmother of Walt Disney. Therefore a great deal of ancestry source material is available on line and in the Disney archives.
