Samuel is seated front row, left.

Samuel Stewart was in training at Seaforth for WW1. The story is that he tripped on the gangplank, broke his leg and missed the action that killed his battalion on the Somme.

He was killed on 10th January, 1945 in a train crash on the Bangor/Belfast line. Son of John Stewart (also posted here) , husband of Sarah Brown. Father of John, Samuel, George, Tommy , James and Sarah. Two children died in infancy William Stewart and Joseph Wilson Stewart.
