When Samuel Watson was born on 27 January 1859 in Ireland, his father, James, was 38 and his mother, Mary Corry, was 37.
He married Sarah Louisa Field on 24 October 1885 in Forbes, New South Wales. They had six children in 20 years.
He died on 4 February 1940 in Forbes, New South Wales, at the age of 81, and was buried there.
