Sarah was reportedly one of six sisters from the Hutchinson family, linen weavers originally from Ayrshire, Scotland. Sarah married James Leslie ca 1715 in Co Antrim and soon after emigrated to Virginia. Their son James Alexander Lessley was born in Virginia 1720.
