Born in 1881 to William McHugh and Mary Moore in Liffaw, Claremorris, Ballindine, Mayo, Ireland. She appears to be the oldest of five, possibly six children. She went to the USA in (approx) 1889 with one sister, to meet another who already lived there, in the Chicago area.
