Back to List

Sir Henry Lynch, 5th Baronet of Castlecarra was the heir of Sir Robuck Lynch, 4th Baronet of Castlecarra and Katharine Blake.  Sir Robuck and Katherine had issue:  Henry, John, Catherine and Jane.  Sir Robuck (Also referred to as Robert) died in or after 1736 when his eldest son, Henry assumed the barony.  Sir Henry married Mary Moore in 1722 and had issue: Robert (Sir, 6th Baronet), Harriet, Anna and two other sons. (This information comes from the book, "Burke's Peerage Volume II).

A handwritten manuscript titled "Pedigree of Lynch Afterwards Lynch-Blosse Baronets and of Castlecarra, Co. Mayo of Clogher and of Cadiz, Spain 1250-c.1812" shows Sir Henry and Mary as having issue: Sir Robert, 6th Baronet of Castlecarra, later Lynch-Blosse; Peter Lynch of Moate, in Co. Galway; Annie wife of the Hon. Henry Browne, son of Lord Altamont; and Eliza, wife of Geoffry Browne of Castle Magarset, Co. Mayo.

What is not published or documented is the name of Sir Henry, 5th Baronet and Mary Moore's other son, mentioned in Burke's Peerage.  Historians in Massachusetts, USA claim that his name was Lawrence Lynch born 1734 or 35 in Galway who came to America around 1754.
