The ancestor I have been researching is Stephen Griffin, likely born circa 1776. His wife, Jane (Ward) Griffin was baptised in 1776 in Swords. Both married in 1807 in Howth. My assumption is that Stephen was born in Howth, but that may not be the case. They had a son, Nicholas, born in 1817, baptised in Swords. Nicholas married Agnes McDaniel (Balbriggan). They had a child, John and soon set sail to Philadelphia, PA, USA. I believe Jane Ward's parents were Arthur and Mary (Kelly). However I am stuck and cannot find anything related to Stephen's baptism/birth or his parents. My goal was to trace the Griffin family, with verification, into the 1700s. So having record of Stephen's birth and parents would complete my mission. I am open to suggestions, directions, or a paper trail. I would like to thank those on the site that have helped me so far, I have had great encounters thus far.
