Susan CORCORAN formerly SHEILL was my great grandmother. So far I have only been able to trace her marriage in the Civil Records. She married my great grandfather Patrick CORCORAN on 24 February 1879. She was over 21 years of age when she was married by the parish priest, Eugene White, at the R.C. Chapel in Tarmonbarry Co. Roscommon. Witnesses were Michael CORCORAN (Patrick's father) and Eliza BANAHAN who was possibly a neighbour of Patrick's as there was a Banahan family living at Sheehaun (Hughes) in Kilgeffin. More details are in the ancestors post for Patrick. Susan had four children, Mary born 28 March 1880, Catherine born 12 August 1881, Michael, my grandfather, born 10 November 1882 (died 13 August 1942) and John born 16 April 1884. John was on the 1901 census but not on the 1911 one. The next record I can find of John was when he married Maria Crowley from Kilmurtha on 2nd July 1871. Susan's residence on the marriage records is Drinagh, Curraghroe. her children were born at Sheehaun (Hughes).
