Thomas Dunn was born in 1798 in Trim, County Meath, the son of John Dunn and Margaret Casey. He married Mary Corroghen and they had 2 children, however in March 1822, Thomas was transported for life to Australia, sailing on the ‘Countess of Harcourt’ and arriving in Australia on 21 December 1822. In 1826 he made application for his wife and two children to join him from Ireland but it this was refused. Mary and the children were living on the parish, perhaps around Kilcock. In 1830 he was granted a ticket of leave for his part in helping apprehending a bushranger. He remarried Rose McGarry in 1832 and had at least 4 more children. He died in 1866 and is buried in Singleton, NSW.
