The Simcocks family arrived in Galway during the reign of Charles 2. Various members were mayors of Galway, and associated with the church of St Nicholas, and later members were lawyers. I am seeking possible connections to the Eyre family in Galway as my Great Great grandfather was named George Eyre Simcocks. The two families were associated together through local politics and commerce. I believe that to use "Eyre" as a family name there must have been some form of connection through marriage. Any information re the family connections to Galway would be greatly appreciated.
