TIMOTHY RYAN 1810

Edit
Edit profile to show place of migration

Timothy Ryan married Margaret McCarthy January 20th 1826, Parish District Kilcommon, Tipperary County. The address of Timothy Ryan is not recorded but the one of Margaret McCarthy is: Curraheen. They were both Roman Catholics. One of the witness for the marriage was Edmund Shanahan and the second was Tom Purcell.

About their family: They had a daughter Margaret Browne born Ryan, Birth date 1833 Tipperary, Ireland. Margaret married William Browne born in 1835. The information I have is that he is born in Limerick, Ireland. Margaret and William Browne married in 1856 in Richmond.

William and Margaret migrated to Australia, probably in 1856. I found a couple with the names of William and Sarah Browne on the passenger list of Arthur the Great ship which left Southampton around march 1856 and arrived in Victoria, Australia June 16th 1856.

In August 20th 1857, They had a daughter named Mary Frances Browne in Melboune, Victoria, Australia. Mary Frances married George William Stokes on December 27th 1875 in Ballarat Victoria Australia. Mary Frances died  on February 27th 1895 in Western Australia. George William Stokes was born in 1855 in Geelong, Victoria and died in 1921 in Ballarat, Victoria Australia.

  • Do you know if Timothy and Margaret had any other children?  I am looking for my Grandmother's Grandfather, I believe his name is John Ryan... I know my Grandmother's father was the youngest of 3 boys and a child when he came to the U.S. with his parents, but I'm trying to find out about them.
