Timothy Ryan was born in Ballybricken in about 1836 to Terence and Mary (Fowly) Ryan. Terence was a farmer in Ballybricken. Timothy had at least one brother, Michael.
Timothy married Mary Synan (daughter of John Synan & Bridget Corbett) on 22nd February 1857 in Limerick. Timothy became a succesful merchant and had a shop at 31 William Street, Limerick. Timothy and Mary Synan had five children - my great grandfather Michael Joseph was born in 1860 in Limerick. Timothy's daughter Helena was born in 1858 and married Patrick O'Malley.
Timothy's wife Mary died in 1867, and he married again in July 1869 to Mary Theresa Nash (father Stephen - merchant). They had two daughters, Florence born in 1871 work at Cannock & Co., and Adelaide.
Timothy died in Dublin in August 1908 and had a large funeral in Limerick. Both Mary (Nash) & Adelaide died in 1910.
