My Great great grandfather was William Norman, who was born c. 1815 in Mallow district Co. Cork, according to his death certificate in Brisbane Australia. He is on the UK Censuses from 1841 to 1881 and emigrated to Australia in 1882. He married a Mary McDonnell from Limerick probably in 1840 in Ireland. I have a possible baptism certificate dated 26 January 1815 from the Catholic parish of Ballyclough. Parents are shown as William Norman and Peg Hease. Sponsors are John Sheahan and Ellen Norman.
I am seeking to find any ancestral connections in that period, as I cannot find marriage records of the parents or any birth details of the parents.

Unfortunately it is hit and miss when it comes to records from around 1800 , birth records did not exist till civil registration was rolled out in 1864, for the period before this we are depending on the existence of church records held by the parish where the marriage, birth or death took place. Like you I have not been able to find any records. I did notice the Norman surname was prevalent in Buttevant (Mallow parish) in later times.
