B.I. Okane Spirits was owned by John Knox Hutchinson in the years prior to 1895. He was a Spirit Merchant producing Whiskey as well as owning this pub. He was married to Margaret Elizabeth Forgrave. They had 8 children born while living in Garvagh, one child born after they moved to Aghadowey in 1896, and one child born after they moved to Belfast in 1898. John Knox Hutchinson is buried in the cemetery at Aghadowey Presbyterian Church.
