Castle Coole is located just outside of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh.
The Castle was built in the late 1700's. The building is Neo-Classical in style and is more correctly classified as a house than a castle, as what few defensive features may be in place are purely decorative in nature.
After the Act of Union the family relocated to their other home in Dublin so as to remain in the Free State.
Castle Coole has been maintained to an excellent standard and is now open to the public for tours.
