Killiney (Dublin) County Dublin
My 2nd Great Grandfather William Murphy appears to have lived at Cintra with his wife Catherine and his children Rosanna, Elizabeth and Daniel (and possibly a Martin and a Maria?) in the mid 1800's. This information is from a series of postcards in my possession that Rosanna wrote to her brother Daniel from Dalkey from 1912 to 1919. I have found information through Thom's Almanac of a Peter Murphy, esq. living at Cintra in the 1850's as well as a 'J. Murphy, esq.' in 1863. Since a 'Peter Murphy' is listed as the manager of William Murphy's interment in 1877, I am assuming that they were brothers and that William and his family either lived at Cintra when Peter owned it or visited frequently.
