Dowra Courthouse is located in the civil parish of Killinagh in County Cavan.
The Courthouse was built around the year 1930.
The construction of the courthouse can be seen as a direct consequence of partition as Cavan only required its own courthouse after the creation of the Irish Republic and the separation of the six counties of Northern Ireland.
The building originally contained a garda barracks as well as a courthouse. This was because more gardai were required to police the border with Northern Ireland.
The Courthouse has been maintained to an excellent standard and is still in use today.
