Station closed in March 1976.Trains still stopped here for special occasions like papal visit in 1979 also for booked shopping trips and hurling. Matches even up to 19 February 1995 for hurling match in Thurles . This Station could be used for Ryder Cup in Adare in 2026 if it got some investment in it.
