Monto - Dublin's notorious red-light district - was located between Talbot Street, Amiens Street, Buckingham Street, Sean McDermott Street and Lower Gardiner Street . Brothel madame Moll Hall was first to set up shop here. It's patrons included soldiers (from the nearby barracks) sailors and merchants (from Dublin's docks) academics, politicians, doctors, holy men and high ranking members of the Dublin Metropolitan Police.
