Built circa 1820 in the townland of Brackyle, this is a fine example of Ireland's traditional reed thatch house with mud walls.

  • This is a great picture.  My grandfather lived, and was possibly born, in Brackyle.  The one picture I have of my great grandfather shows him sitting in front of a house similar to this this one where he lived.  He died in 1931.
