A home of Bindon Blood Esq. (1775-1855) throughout the first half of the 19th century and later of his son, Bagot Blood (1845-1897).
"Rockforest, the residence of Bindon Blood, Esq., is situated in a finely planted demesne extending nearly a mile along the road" [Lewis1837]
In 1855, at the time of Griffith's Valuation, It was held in fee by Bindon Blood and valued at £12.
The house shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map was replaced by a later house (still extant) nearby.
