St. Andrew's Methodist Church

St James (Dublin)

This octagonal Methodist church (built circa 1904) was designed by Dublin-based architect George Francis Beckett. 

 Set back from the road, the courtyard garden to the rear features two painted stone plaques within the west garden wall which read as follows:

"This stone was laid by his excellency William Humble, Earl of Dudley Lord-Lieutenant, on 6th June 1904, by J. C??? Rector"

"This stone was laid by the Most Rev. J. Peacocke Archbishop of Dublin, on 6th June 1904"

Now St. Andrew's Community Centre this building's social significance endures in the area.
