Hi, everyone. I don't see the comment here that I left when I created this post so I'll repeat it. My 2x Great Grandfather Anthony Dunnion and 2x Great Grandmother Mary Duffy were married here on October 27, 1859. When I visited Donegal for a few days unexpectedly in 2015 I quickly researched Catholic Churches near where my ancestors lived in Magherawarden. I took a chance and drove there one afternoon. There was a baptism in the chuch that afternoon as well and that family was very gracious to my husband and I when we arrived. The church is lovely. We also walked around the grounds, read the headstones and admired the view. Later we met the parish priest who invited us to the rectory and who then found the original record of my ancestor's marriage in the church archives. It was very exciting and fulfilling.
