Drinagh as described in the Down Survey of Ireland from 1650s.

The map above is taken from the following website on the Down Survey of Ireland taken in the 1650s. Down Survey, so called because a chain was laid down and a scale made, was taken from 1656-8 under the direction of William Petty.

Drinagh's townlands at the time are different from today. For example The townland of Toughbawn can be seen to encompass The Paddock and Shandrum townlands. The surrounding parishes are also mapped including Kilmacabea directly south.
