Killukin Parish population drops to 2,079 during the Famine

Killukin's townland of Knockacortha (on the Croghan road to Carrick-on-Shannon) saw a staggering drop in population during the Great Famine. In 1841 it was home to 128 souls; by 1851 only 38 remained. See: Killukin Parish Population (Census results 1841-1881; page 2)
