The Sean O'Casey play, 'Juno and the Paycock', made its world premiere at Dublin's Abbey Theatre on the 3rd of May 1924.
The play is set in the Dublin Tenements during the Civil War, which at the time would have been a very recent memory for the people of Ireland.
In 1930, the play would go on to be adapted for the silver screen in a movie of the same name by Alfred Hitchcock.
