I am looking for info on Arthur Daniel Rooney dob 19 Dec 1870 . Parents Daniel Arthur Rooney dob 1838 dod 1915, Mary Anne McVeigh dob 1843 dod 1918. I believe he married Elizabeth Rooney Rooney in 1893 and then left for New York City . My grandfather , also , Arthur Daniel Rooney witnessed his citizenship and my great uncle Patrick Bernard Rooney was his sponsor when he arrived in New York City. I do not know the relationship between my grandfather and my great uncle to this Arthur Daniel Rooney. Maybe cousins but I can not fine a connection.

    Subscription site  www.rootsireland.ie - has a record of the baptism of an Arthur Rooney in the parish of Clonallan, Poor Law Union of Newry, Co. Down on December 19th 1870.

    Father: Daniel Rooney and mother Mary A. Mcveigh.

    Baptismal Sponsors: Michael Rooney and Bridget Grant.

    Further to previous Post, attached copy of civil record of the birth of Arthur Rooney. Address: Edentrumly, Barony of Upper Iveagh, Co. Down, Civil parish of Clonallan.

    Marrriage in 1893 to Elizabeth Rainey - Church Record. Civil record not found.

    Daniel Rooney was farming c60 acres of land in the townland of Edentrumly.

  • I am looking for immigration info on Arthur Daniel Rooney dob 19 Dec 1870. I know he arrived in New York City on 19 May 1893 per his naturalization papers but I can not find the ships name of place of departure. Daniel married Elizabeth Rainey/Rooney 26 Apr 1893 and left for New York a few weeks later. I can find no immigration info on Elizabeth so I don't know if she stayed behind or left with Daniel. Their first child was born in New York City on 25 Aug 1898, so that is a five year gap.....
