In an old address book of my mother's I've discovered an entry for someone called B. Doyle, Tara Hill, Inch, Gorey. This may date back to the 1950s, as I know my mother, Kathleen Clark (née Kelly) used to visit that part of Ireland then. This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm hoping these names might mean something to someone, as I gather that Tara Hill is quite a small place.

  • Glopa,

Several households with Doyles in Tarahill in the 1911 census:

In 1911, Tarahill had 42 homes and a population of 179.

  • Many thanks. Having looked at the census information I think I need to try and find a local history group or similar in order to get more information about the area in the 1950s
