My ancestors ( a group of brothers and sisters) the FINN family left Ballaghmore, Carlow and arrived in Victoria, Australia on various ships in the early 1850s. I am beginning to collect information of any records I can find connected with Ballaghmore. My ancestors names were FINN & GLORY. I have found that GLORY can also be spelled CLOWRY which is a common name in Ballaghmore and surrounding parishes. NOWLAN is also a common name there and I have found through DNA matches that I have MANY connections with NOWLANs who left IRELAND and settled in New Brunswick, Canada. I hypothesise that my (suspected) 4x g grandmother Mary SHORTELL first married a James GLORY and then her second husband was James NOWLAN. This is a hypothesis only. I am interested in hearing fom other researchers interested in this parish specifically. I know that they could also be from surrounding parishes, but this is my strating point.
Cheers

Janine:
Unless I'm incorrect, Ballaghmore is actually a 471 acre townland within the civil parish of Myshall. The RC parish would also be Myshall.
Here is a link to the parish register https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0719 and records start in 1822 but it appears from the index that the early records have gaps. The subscription site Roots Ireland has the baptismal records starting in 1846 and marriages in 1812.
I searched Roots Ireland but did not locate any Mary Shortell marriages to a Nowland or Glory.
Let me know if there is anyone in particular that you need to have searched considering the date limitations listed above.
