My ancestors are the Carens/Kearns of Ballyhaunis, Mayo. There may be different spellings beyond those I have listed.
My 3x great grandfather, James Carens/Kearns (born circa 1810), married Mary MNU in the 1820s or 1830s. They had five children; Mary (born circa 1835), Barney, Bridget, Anna (born circa 1838) and Patrick (born circa 1840).
Mary, Anna (my 2x great grandmother) and Patrick all emigrated to Onondaga County, New York State, USA in the 1860s. Barney and Bridget remained in Ireland.
I would love to be able to track down more about this branch of my family. To learn my 3x great grandmother's maiden name would be a gift. To learn of descendants of Barney and/or Bridget still living in Ireland would be a blessing.
I visited Ballyhaunis in 2018 but was unable to find the family grave sites. I visited Abbey Quarter, St. Mary's Friary and Aghamore Graveyard, but I fear that I missed at least one cemetery in the area.
If anyone can give me any pointers on what info I might search to track down this family I would greatly appreciate it.

TGS: Unfortunately, the records for the RC parish of Annagh/Ballyhaunis do not begin until late 1851 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1040 I did find a Byran Kearns in the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Annagh civil parish living in the townland of Leo. Likely this was a mispelling of Bryan which is an alternative name for Bernard or Barney. On the subscription site Roots Ireland I located four baptismal records in the parish of Annagh/Ballyhaunis where the parents were Bernard Kearns and Mary Sheridan (two of the four records only showed Mary). Bridget baptized September 21 1852 Honour baptized December 1 1854 John baptized May 13 1856 Bryan baptized December 8 1860 This record may be for John and his family in the 1901 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Loughanboy/Leo/15… 1911 census http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Mayo/Loughanboy/Leo/73… Mary died December 5 1886 at age 65. Bryan/Bernard died November 19 1896 at age 58. I think 58 was a mistake. John's wife Ellen was the informant and either she did not know his correct age or the registrar did not hear the age correctly.
