I have a summary of the 1673 will of my 7x g. grandfather, named Thomas Berry (merchant). In it he names his brother as "Francis Bury", his son, Thomas, his wife, Mary and "Sibie L'Estrange". Thomas died in Castlecuffe, Laois, and his wife (Mary) and young son (Thomas) were sent to live with relatives in Kildare. Some of these relatives were probably Catholic although Thomas himself had converted to Protestantism. I know that there was a Berry/Bury family, or families living in Kildare in the 1640s and suspect that there may be evidence of them in the St. Brigid's Cathedral graveyard in Kildare Town, which at the time buried both Catholics and Protestants. Is there anyone who would be prepared to look for gravestones there with these names for me? Or perhaps there are records of burials available somewhere. I am particularly interested to learn more about Francis Bury. DNA indicates that he was ancestor to many descendants in America. I will meet any costs involved.
